The Port Valdez Company offers the following conceptual drawings using two prime pieces of PVC property and adjoining neighboring property as a “mini-shopping center” that would welcome visitors as they drive into Valdez on Richardson Highway at East Egan Avenue across from the Totem Inn.

These shops would be designed with storefronts that would give a flavor of the Valdez “Old Town” hospitality with a “Gold Rush” theme. A great place to begin telling the “Valdez Story” and inform visitors about what goes on in Valdez. There could be art galleries or art cooperatives, an Ice Cream Parlor Saloon and coffee house, law offices, bank ATMs, outfitters, Chamber of Commerce offices, tourist shops, etc.

An excellent place for young entrepreneurs to start a new business that caters to tourists and the local community year-round. There even could be a “bandstand” that would add to the excitement of events throughout the year.
